Eric Gallagher

Coaching Position: Program Strength and Conditioning & Junior Varsity Assistant Coach

High School: Cherry Creek (CO, 2008)

College: United States Military Academy (2012)

Playing Experience: Cherry Creek High School

Coaching Experience: 2 years of high school lacrosse experience (Boulder High School: JV Coach, Goalie Coach, Strength and Conditioning)

Family: I live in Denver with my girlfriend and 2 dogs. Dad (CCHS Lax ’76) and Mom (CCSD 30 yr. teacher) live in the area.

About: I am a graduate of CCHS Class of 2008 where I played Varsity lacrosse and ran Cross Country. After graduating high school, I went to the West Point where I did not play lacrosse and instead competed in combat shooting. I deployed to Afghanistan in 2014 as an Infantry Officer and in 2017-18 as a Special Forces Officer. I then deployed to Ukraine in 2019 and 2020 also as a Green Beret Officer. After transitioning to graduate school for education in 2021, I spent two years going to school, coaching, student teaching and subbing in Boulder, CO. I have been fortunate to be able to teach social studies and coach multiple sports at Creek this year and look forward to decades more to come.

Motivation to coach: Playing competitive team sports (especially at Creek) is one of the best ways to prepare for life after high school. The coaches, teachers, teammates, and everyone else at this school helped shape me into who I am today and I will replicate a small portion of what I got out of this sport at this place for as many of these young men as I can.

Favorite Lacrosse Memory: Team Colorado trips back east, state champs 2006.
